Dehradun – The superstars of Indian comedy are all set to light up Dehradun with their witty and humorous fireworks. The 3-day DERA Comedy Fest will kickstart the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the State of Uttarakhand with live shows of Sunil Grover, Zakir Khan, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, Chinki Minki Gopal Datt and Paritosh Tripathi.
This is the first time that the team of the extremely popular The Kapil Sharma Show will feature in the same festival. Sunil Grover, with his amazing impersonation of famous personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Gulzar and Kapil Dev is a rage among comedy lovers. Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda unvariably bring the house down with their Dharam-Sunny acts. Zakir Khan recently created history by becoming the first Hindi artist to perform at the sold out Madison Square Garden in New York, and has perhaps the largest fan base in the standup comedy world. Gopal Datt is a seasoned actor whose musical comedy show is extremely popular. The twin sensations Chinki Minki are unique in the way they speak in sync, whereas Rajiv Thakur is famous for his hilarious one-liners. Paritosh Tripathi is knows for his funny antics on television shows and also recites funny poetry.
DERA Comedy Fest will be inaugurated by the Hon Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, who will also felicitate leading actors from the state such as Sudhanshu Pandey, Shivangi Joshi, Varun Badola, Himani Shivpuri, Brijendra Kala, Shruti Pawar, Anjali Tatrari, Swati Semwal, Abhilash Thapliyal, Priyanshu Painyuli, Sunita Rajwar and Hemant Pandey
The major highlight of the festival will be the participation of all leading actors from the State of Uttarakhand, such as Hemant Pandey, Shruti Ulfat, Sudhanshu Pandey, Shivangi Joshi, Sunita Rajwar, Varun Badola, Brijendra Kala, Priyanshu Painyuli, Gopal Datt, Abhilash Thapliyal and Anjali Tatrari.
DERA Comedy Fest has been created and curated by Bharat Kukreti, who has been the writer-director of some of the most popular television shows such as Comedy Circus, Comedy Nights with Kapil, and The Kapil Sharma Show. The programme is being executed by Ashutish Mishta, Avinash Mishra and team who have a vast experience in conducting events in Uttarakhand..
